Antonin Monie

Performer

Antonin Monié trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School from 2003 and entered the Paris Opera Ballet in 2009. Over the years he has been singled out by many of the choreographers shaping the company’s contemporary profile, creating and performing roles in works by Crystal Pite (The Seasons’ Canon), Sharon Eyal (Faunes), Alexander Ekman (Play), Hofesh Shechter (In Your Rooms, Uprising), Mats Ek (Bolero), and in Pina Bausch’s Kontakthof. This range of collaborations has made him a versatile interpreter of the major contemporary voices within the Opera’s repertoire.

His collaboration with Alan Lucien Øyen began in 2022 with Cri de Cœurr at the Paris Opera, where he created the role of “Personne” opposite Marion Barbeau - a character poised between life and death that demanded as much acting as dance. Since then he has continued to deepen his ongoing exploration of acting alongside his dance career.

Beyond his work at the Opera, Monié has engaged in new creative processes that allow him to contribute not only as a performer but as a collaborative artist. He continues to explore projects at the intersection of text, movement, and dramatic expression, bringing both physical intensity and theatrical sensitivity to his performances.

Antonin Monié performs in the winter guests production Antigone (2025).
