Performer
Douglas Letheren is an American dancer whose career has spanned some of the most influential companies in contemporary dance. A Juilliard graduate (BFA 2007, Movado Future Legends Award recipient, nominated by Mikhail Baryshnikov), he joined Batsheva Dance Company from 2007 to 2012, performing works by Ohad Naharin and Sharon Eyal, and later became a founding member of Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar’s company L-E-V. He went on to join Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch (2016–2019), performing in landmark repertoire, and since 2018 has been a member of Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot, touring internationally in Revisor and Assembly Hall.
Letheren’s first collaboration with Alan Lucien Øyen came with Bon Voyage, Bob for Tanztheater Wuppertal in 2018. His performance in the work earned him a nomination for Germany’s Der Faust Prize the following year. With winter guests he has since performed in The American Moth (2021), Still Life (2025), and Antigone (2025).
Renowned for combining visceral physicality with finely tuned dramatic abilities, Letheren brings a distinctive presence to both the stage and collaborative creation processes.
Douglas Letheren has worked on the following winter guests productions: The American Moth (2021, performer), Still Life (2025), and Antigone (2025).
