Performer
Huy Le Vo is a Norwegian actor, theatre maker and dramaturge. He trained at the Norwegian Theatre Academy (Akademi for Scenekunst) in Fredrikstad, graduating in 2007. Since then he has developed a career that bridges independent theatre, institutional productions, and long-term artistic collaborations.
He has performed with companies and theatres across Norway, including Den Nationale Scene, Riksteatret, Hålogaland Teater, and Carte Blanche, as well as with choreographers such as Hege Haagenrud and Ulf Nilseng. His stage work also includes collaborations with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK).
Together with actor Rebekka Nystabakk, Le Vo co-founded the artistic duo Rebekka/Huy, whose productions have been presented at Black Box teater, Avant Garden, BIT Teatergarasjen, Dramatikkens hus, Litteraturhuset, RAS, Teater Ibsen, Festspillene i Nord-Norge, and Teaterfestivalen i Fjaler. As a dramaturge he has collaborated with Berstad/Helgebostad/Wigdel/Brun, Magnus Myhr and Jon Tombre, contributing to some of Norway’s most distinctive contemporary performance projects. His artistic practice has been supported with multiple work grants from the Norwegian Government Grants for Artists (Statens kunstnerstipend, 2012, 2015, 2016).
Le Vo has been a recurring performer with Alan Lucien Øyen and winter guests, appearing in Bird in Magic Rain with Tears (2010), Coelacanth (2013), Jingle Horse! (2015) and America Ep. 3: SuperAmateur (2017). In 2025 he returned to Den Nationale Scene to perform as the Messenger in Øyen’s staging of Antigone, a role that earned him a Hedda Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
Huy Le Vo has worked on the following winter guests productions: SuperAmateur (2017), Jingle Horse! (2015), Coelacanth (2013), and Bird in Magic Rain with Tears (2010).
