Pascal Marty

Performer

Pascal Marty is a French-born dancer and performer trained at the Conservatoire National de Montpellier and the École de danse de Genève. Early engagements included Ballet Junior de Genève and the Saarländisches Staatstheater before he joined GöteborgsOperans Danskompani in 2013. He remained with the company until 2022, a period in which he helped shape its transformation into a leading platform for contemporary repertory.

Marty’s long collaboration with Alan Lucien Øyen began at the Göteborg Opera with If We Shadows Have Offended(2015), and continued with Kodak (2016) and Oblivion (2022). He later joined winter guests for the creation of Story story die in 2019.

At Göteborg he worked with choreographers including Damien Jalet (Skid) and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (Noetic, Icon), among many others. He is recognised as an emotional and creative performer who often contributes beyond movement, shaping material in close collaboration with choreographers. Solo appearances include Astrid Boons’ Decay and Lewis Major’s Epilogue.

Alongside his performance career, Marty has been developing his own voice as a choreographer. His work has been presented in Mexico with the Taller Coreográfico de la UNAM, and in Europe in a shared evening with Émilie Leriche for Lenka Vagnerová & Company in Prague.

Since 2022, in addition to performing and exploring choreography, he has regularly served as ballet master (maître de ballet) with the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève.

Pascal Marty performs in the winter guests productions Story story die (2019) and Antigone (2025).
